Why we built this
Backtests lie. Everyone in this industry knows it, and most signal services make the problem worse by showing you cherry-picked screenshots or manually edited spreadsheets.
We got tired of trying to prove our EAs work by sharing backtest reports that people (understandably) don't fully trust. So we built something better: a system that shows you live trading data from real MT5 accounts, updated automatically, with no human editing in the pipeline.
How it works
Every EA on our platform runs a built-in reporting module called FXTool Signal Reporter. Here's what it does:
- The EA runs on a real MT5 account with real money
- After each trade closes, the EA automatically sends the trade data to our server
- Our server calculates performance metrics in real time — total return, drawdown, win rate, Sharpe ratio, profit factor
- The results are displayed on the product page with a full equity curve
Nobody on our team touches the numbers. The EA reports, the server calculates, the page displays. That's it.
What you see on a signal page
- Equity curve — the actual account balance over time, not a backtest projection
- Total return — net profit as a percentage of the initial deposit
- Max drawdown — the worst peak-to-trough drop the account has experienced
- Running time — how many weeks the signal has been live
- Trade history — every closed trade with entry, exit, profit/loss, and duration
We also show the key stats that matter for evaluating an EA: profit factor, Sharpe ratio, and recovery factor. If you know how to read a backtest report, you'll recognize the same metrics — except these are from live trading.
What makes this different from other signal services
No manual reporting. The data comes directly from the EA, not from a person copying numbers into a dashboard.
Real accounts, not demo. Demo accounts don't have slippage, spread widening, or execution delays. Our signals run on funded accounts where execution conditions match what you'd experience.
Fully transparent. Every trade is logged. You can see when the EA opened a position, when it closed, and what happened in between. There's no way to hide losing trades or delete bad months.
Tied to the product. Each signal is linked to a specific EA you can buy and run yourself. It's not "subscribe to my signals and trust me" — it's "here's proof this EA works, now run it on your own account."
When it launches
The signal system is live now on selected products. Check any EA on the FXTool marketplace — if it has a signal tab, you can see the live performance data.
We're adding more EAs to the signal system every week as they accumulate enough live trading history to be meaningful. A signal needs at least a few weeks of real trading before the data tells you anything useful.
